Andrew Clement has served as principal cellist for the Salt Lake Symphony since joining the symphony in 2015.

Andrew earned his B.M. in Cello Performance in 2009 from Brigham Young University studying with Julie Bevan. During that time, he served as principal cellist of the BYU Philharmonic Orchestra and won the Evening of Concertos, performing the Shostakovich Cello Concerto No. 1. He was a member of the BYU Honors Quartet, the premier quartet of the university. He participated in the European American Musical Alliance in Paris, France, an intensive chamber music program. He is a prize winner in the Utah ASTA (American String Teachers Association) and MTNA (Musical Teachers National Association) competitions.

While growing up in the Chicago suburbs, Andrew received instruction from Andrew Snow and Hans Jorgen Jensen (Northwestern University) and served as principal cellist of the Midwest Young Artists.

Andrew earned his J.D. from the S.J. Quinney College of Law in 2013. He continues to maintain a studio of cello students, freelance, and upload to his YouTube channel, thecelloboy. He lives in Millcreek with his husband Cameron and his two cats, Coco and Hugo.
