Spirit of Spring

Each year, we invite able young musicians to participate our annual side-by-side event. This year, our young colleagues will join us to perform Alexander Borodin’s powerful Polovtsian Dances. The spirit of music continues throughout the program, with a performance of American composer Augusta Read Thomas’s reflective Violin Concerto, No. 1, “Spirit Musings.” Soloist Hasse Borup is known for his championing of new music and exciting projects. We will close with Beethoven’s Fourth Symphony, a tour de force for every section of the orchestra and one of Beethoven’s tightest compositions
- Alexander Borodin: Polovstian Dances from Prince Igor
- Augusta Reed Thomas: Violin Concerto No.1,”Spirit Musings”
- Beethoven, Symphony No. 4 in Bb Major, Op. 60
