Michelle Pedersen

Michelle Marie Pedersen, soprano, has appeared as a soloist throughout the Pacific Northwest and performed roles on both the operatic and musical theater stages. Her most recent stage roles include Angelica in Suor Angelica  and Lucy the Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd with the University of Utah’s Lyric Opera; Giovanna in Rigoletto with Utah Opera; Musetta in La Bohème with St. George Opera. Ms. Pedersen has been a soloist with Salt Lake Choral Artists, University of Utah Philharmonia, Salt Lake Symphony, Cantus Youth Choirs, and the Oregon Festival Chorale. In 2019, Michelle made her Ohio Light Opera debut in the production of South Pacific, playing the beloved and boisterous role of Bloody Mary. She has since returned to Ohio Light Opera as a resident artist in 2021 as Babcock Bellamy in The Fantastiks, in 2022 performing the title role in Hello! Dolly, and in 2023 performing the roles of Morgan LeFey in Camelot and Miss Jones in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Other performance credits include, Madame Lidoine (Dialogues des Carmèlites), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), The Old Lady (Candide). Ms. Pedersen holds a Bachelor of Arts in both Vocal Performance and Music Education from Oregon State University, and an MM and DMA in Vocal Performance from the University of Utah. Michelle currently resides in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with her husband.
